In these chapters jurgis is still trying to fit in with the american way of living and is trying to make a living off of about 1 dollar and a half a day and that shows that alot of people back then worked really hard but did not make as much as they should of i also. I didnt like the house they bought because it was gross haha but i guess if you need a place to live you will take anything. I liked how that they talked about how dieasaed meat got mixed in with the non dieasaed meat and that just shows how lazy some of the workers were and possibly endangered many lives so all in all i thought this chapter set us up for something that can be either awesome or disgusting or even both!

I thought you put a lot of information into your response. It seems that you really understood these chapters. The only thing you could possibly improve on is writing about 250 words, other than that, great job!!!
You put a lot of thought into this and did a good job. How the good and bad meat was mixed together wasn't because of laziness it was because the people were told to do it all or they wouldn't have a job anymore. You did a great job!
