Chapter 31 - yo..yo..

The beginning of the chapter is that marija is stil laddicted to morphine and she remains a prostitute and wants to still be one for the resto f her life whihc is really sad because i dont think anyone has ot go through that buti guess if you have to do it or die thats acceptable but still... Jurgis is with a magazine editor and agrees to listen to his proponents of movement and Jurgis discusses the unsanitary conditons the workers are in and the meat packing. Nicolas, a fierce socialist explains that the movement wishes to enact public ownership of the means of production and that no worker should be working countless hours to just survive in the jungle and he should work 2 hours a day and devote the rest to personal interest.

Chapter 27 and twinty eight

Chapter 27:

Well to start off Jurgis is a begger again which is very sad and not cool D: and he dosent have a job and its very hard to get one again. What is sad is that he should of just stayed in his old job it was alot better then begging on the streets. I also liked the part when the lady kicked him haha it kept me from falling asleep i guess haha. Whats sad is that he wants to go see his family but the police take him and he can only talk to them for a little bit and that was sad to me :( and jurgis goes back to jail

Chapter 28:

I thought it was dandy when Jurgis gets a false identity and no one knows that he beat up conner. Its sad to see Jurgis on the streets again because he once had a wonderful place to stay and be but now he lost it all and he lives in the cold streets. Its cool to see jurgis talkign about the horrible capitalists and teaching people their bad and to shut them down!

My summary of all the chapters:

I thought that these two chapters wereh eartbreaking for me because just the fact that Jurgis is on the streets again when he had a wonderful place to stay and be and he blew it by going back to jail and how he can talk to his family for only a few minutes

Chapter 26 reaction..Thing..Yea...........

Well first off the unions went on strike which i guess is a good thing? I have no idea.. Then jurgis is like king of death beds haha and i guess thats awesome i mean if your a boss and making major cash then thats a plus haha The price of the meat sky rocketed whic his bad for people wanting meat and thats like the only thing they can eat. Jurgis came to face Phil again and again Jurgis beats the man and runs away. I like how Jurgis meets Conner again. Jurgis gets bail and gets it lowered it to 300$ and thats said becauswe of the moneys he making and he goes back and has to give up his money. So all in all this chapter fluctuated between good and bad because of the working Jurgis is doing and how he went to jail!

Chapters 23-26 lololololol

In these chapters i read i learned that Jurgis moves to Chicago and then finds a job in underground tunnels or something like that haha and yes Jurgis is still spending money for booze and stuff like that. Jurgis gets injuried while doing this job and that dosent suprise me since this guy likes to get hurt a alot in the last few chapters haha and ends up spending christmas injuried and sadly with no family pretty much :( he also becomes a hobo and has to fight for stuff like food and territories. Jurgis meets this guy named Freddie and he helps him by making him a huge dinner for himself..Lucky! Freddie also gave Jurgis 100$ and he tries to get change but cant and he goes to some place to try and he goes to the bar and he beats up the bartender for not giving correct change and he goes back to jail for 10 days plus costs. Jurgis joins this underground thing and becomes rich haha and thats it! :D

Wow, im bored

Individual Novel Response - The Grapes of Wrath

The novel i am reading is called The Grapes of Wrath and its by John Steinback and its a pretty good novel. I read about 3 chapters so far and its about a Oklahoma farm family, the Joads, who are driven off their homestead and forced to travel west to the promised land of California and they are forced to survive through the dustbowl but i only know that because i read the back of the book. I think this book will be a pretty good one and i hope theres going to be alot of adventure in this book but i must read it to find out.. Or find a summary. So far this book never really tells us anything except pretty much just the setting and main characters and a little information buts thats all for about 3 chapters and im too bored so im just gonna keep this simple as in not 250 words so i have very high hopes for this book and it better be worth it because i need to recheck in this book at the library.

The Jungle 4-6!

In these chapters jurgis is still trying to fit in with the american way of living and is trying to make a living off of about 1 dollar and a half a day and that shows that alot of people back then worked really hard but did not make as much as they should of i also. I didnt like the house they bought because it was gross haha but i guess if you need a place to live you will take anything. I liked how that they talked about how dieasaed meat got mixed in with the non dieasaed meat and that just shows how lazy some of the workers were and possibly endangered many lives so all in all i thought this chapter set us up for something that can be either awesome or disgusting or even both!

Comments:

1. I thought it ws horrible how he only got 1 and a half dollars a day
2. I liked how he carried stuff on his head
3. I liked how jurgis is always done with his work
4. I didnt like how the americans were treating the new immagrints
5. I like how the chapter is very informative

My Essay Topic Stuff

My topic is going to be about the one about how dehumanizing the slave master and the slave to themselves and this is a good topic because it will show you the harmful effects about slavery toward each other and how slavery can kill everyones ego not just the slaves themselves but everyone around them. My main argument is going to be about how the slave masters and the slaves are dehumanizing themselves and why that is going to be a really bad thing for everyone down the road from now. I will also include how dehumanizing slaves and slave masters might be actully a good thing for this particular argument. Also how the slave masters actully end up dehumanizing the slaves and themselves all at once and how horrible this can be. I could prove this by using The Narrative of Freddy D as a resource for pretty much all of my info for now and then i will use some old resources from back then like uncle toms cabin and the liberator and good ol' wikipedia. So that is my plan

My reaction to the ending!

This chapter was my favorite because Freddy D was free like a free man haha and was getting paid like a free man also and everyone started to treat him like he was a actual person and not just as a piece of property. So that chapter was my favorite because it shows that he is a real human. What i hated was that when he worked he only got 6 cents compared to the other man who got 6 dollars and that is really horrible i think he should be paid more! But to wrap this up it was awesome!

Questions
1. Why was he paid 6 cents and not 6 dollars?
2.

Comments
1. This chapter was the best because he was free.
2. It was sad that he was only paid so little.

Chapter 10 Stuff

I thought that chapter 10 was really long. That made me lose where i was almost all the time, but anyways apart from that this chapter was pretty awesome like about how mr covey whipped one minute and for a week straight he did not whip at all i mean whats up with that? So i have no idea what this chapter was about because i got lost almost half the time because it made no sense to me and so all i did was just read it again. This chapter was epic because of how like i said before how mr covey dosent whip people sometimes because hes not consistent. Also i like how they refer to other parts from the panphlet haha which i thought was pretty cool

Questions

1.
Why did Mr. Covey stop whipping one day or weeks at a time for no reason.

2.
What was the certificate about for "Mr. Waggles"

Comments

1.
I really dont like this chapter because it was really long for me anyways

2.
This chapter was cool

Mr. Lit Man (Fredrick Dougleas)

I think the chapters were really weird and stuff

Slavery Stuff (American History)

My reaction to all this is anger an frustration because of all those people who died for something they couldnt help and because everyone needs to be treated to same without discrimenation. If i could i would go back in time and help those people. I would jump off the ship because either way you look at it, your going to die anyways or maybe i could get washed up on a shore and live on coconuts and bananas. If i was on board with my baby i would try to keep it for as long as possible and i would possibly give it to someone else who can keep it well. I really think this is a really bad event in history and its a really good thing it dosent go on in todays time.

Dont Read This Its Done (Chapter 1 Fredrick Douglas)

The purpose of the two letters of the introduction was i have no idea because i didn't pay to much attention to the introduction so i cant really answer that question. My reaction to chapter 1 was that it was sad and stuff because he never really got to see his mom at all in his life and that must be really hard for someone at the young of an age and i think this panphlet is pretty confusing, hard to read, awesome because its about the slavery trade which was a horrible point the the united states history. I think this will be a cool thing to read but hopefully its not as hard as poe's works and you should not read this while your really sleepy and drowzy because you WILL fall asleep.
